New Faces at Informed K12: Customer Success Team  (Part 1)

We’re so excited to welcome new faces to the Informed K12 team! Please read below more about our newest members to the Customer Success Team and why they decided to join Informed K12

Why does the mission of Informed K12 matter to you?

Informed K12’s mission is in alignment with my personal mission to continually support solutions that make K12 entities better. Where I can share my experience and expertise to improve the efficacy of K12 solution adoptions in K12 districts and schools, I am eager to participate. Informed K12’s focus caught my attention as one of those platforms supporting K12 need currently not well addressed. 

What part of the interview process stood out to you as unique?

The thorough and thoughtfulness of the interview process really stood out to me. I did have the opportunity to interview at various companies simultaneously and Informed K12’s process was tangibly different. I felt comfortable stating during the interview process that whether Informed K12 selected me or not, I felt seen and valued and trusted the company was making a fair decision about me.

What surprised you about starting work at Informed K12?

After the interview process I had high expectations of Informed K12 so I haven’t been surprised as much as continually impressed by how thoughtful Informed K12 is as a company. From the onboarding to the ongoing support from company staff, to discussions on product philosophy and developing company values, Informed K12 continues to show me its commitment to K12, people, and communities.

What are you excited to learn at Informed K12? 

I’m excited to learn more about the team that makes up Informed K12. Everyone brings unique strengths and a strong desire to support my success, and I am excited to be part of this team.

What was your favorite subject or class in school? 

I always enjoyed three subjects, Math, History/Social Studies, and Music, and of these three subjects, Math was my favorite. I still enjoy a good math word problem and look forward to doing these with my school aged child.

Why does the mission of Informed K12 matter to you?

After seven years in the education/nonprofit sector, I was drawn to Informed K12 because of their goal to support educators. In particular, I was drawn to the value “People First” - that’s how I have oriented myself to the work I do. Connecting with districts and educators and building authentic connections will ultimately produce better outcomes.

What part of the interview process stood out to you as unique?

I loved that Informed K12 made the “Interview Prep Guide” available to all interviewees. To me, it showed commitment to hiring a diverse team with a variety of workforce backgrounds.

What surprised you about starting work at informed K12?

Starting with an organization entirely remotely can be challenging, but the team at Informed K12 has gone out of their way to make sure I feel welcome and supported. Everyone I have spoken to has offered their help with any question or upcoming projects. It has made the transition so much easier!

What are you excited to learn at Informed K12? 

I’m looking forward to learning more about the needs of each of the districts I will be working with. I believe in the power of tech to help all educators, but something that separates Informed K12 is our commitment to each individual customer. I’m excited to learn about the unique solutions that work for each of them!

What was your favorite subject or class in school? 

I’ve always been interested in history as a subject! But one of my favorite classes was actually a Glass Arts class in my Senior year of high school. We made stained glass mirrors, plates, and more. It was a really special experience!

Why does the mission of Informed K12 matter to you?

IK12’s mission resonates deeply with me. I’ve always admired educators and all that they do for our communities so to be able to help them in any way is really rewarding. Our commitment to improve processes speaks to the neat freak in me but more importantly, the impact that our partnerships have on students and faculty, and in a larger sense society as whole, makes me grateful to be a part of something so important.

What part of the interview process stood out to you as unique?

They set you up for success. Communication was pretty clear and additional information was always provided, i.e, if you needed to do a take home exercise, how long it should take, etc.

What surprised you about starting work at informed K12?

I was pleasantly surprised to see that their commitment to D&I is real. Even before the hiring process begins, IK12 takes it a step further than the Rooney law. They don’t shy away from personal or political topics and take culture seriously. Everyone is welcomed and allowed to bring their full, authentic selves to work.

What are you excited to learn at Informed K12? 

I’m excited to learn more about how different districts operate. I taught briefly at a very small district and grew up in a small school district so it has been really eye-opening to see all the work that administrators do behind the scenes.

What was your favorite subject or class in school? 

English. I’ve always been a bookworm and have been fortunate enough to have incredible teachers who exposed me to books outside of “the classics”, books where I could actually see myself, and forced me to critically think about my role in society.
