We're building a more efficient and equitable K-12 system
When Sarah Chou and Qian Wang met at Stanford's Graduate School of Education in 2012, they discovered a shared conviction: technology could create meaningful impact across the entire K-12 system if it solved the right problems. Inspired by Sarah's work in Providence Public Schools, they saw an opportunity others weren't tackling—the complex operational challenges that drain district resources and pull teams away from their core mission.
So they started Informed K12 to build tools that work the way districts actually work. Today, we're a team of 75+ people helping hundreds of school districts manage finances, HR, and operations more efficiently.

Core Values
Our core values define us
These values define how we interact with each other, our district customers, and our community.
People first
We care about our district partners and each other as people. We seek to build a truly diverse and inclusive environment so our employees can thrive as their authentic selves.
Empowerment
We involve our districts and build long-term value with them. We don't strive to "disrupt" or break things in the traditional Silicon Valley sense—we make things work better.
Grit
We push through daunting challenges because we understand the impact our work has on school districts and the students they serve.
Going rogue
We think for ourselves and break from traditional wisdom when needed to find what actually works in our unique K-12 context.
